Hi. I'm Joey. Welcome to my portfolio.
I see the world in frames. I take inventory of every single logo I see in the world. I write and edit in my head when I am not at my desk. I pause playback to break down graphic animations. I am an award-winning graphic designer, photographer, and video production professional with over twenty years of experience. I can edit and create graphics on nearly any platform. I shoot with DSLRs, field and studio production cameras, and love pushing my iPhone to get a cinematic look. If it has a screen or makes noise, I probably know a little something about it.
Photography
Over my career, I have had the opportunity to take pictures in all sorts of genres. From sports to landscapes to headshots and event coverage and general slice of life photos, I love the opportunity to utilize the different tools and techniques to capture a wide variety of shots. I enjoy working with everything from full-sensor mirrorless cameras to grabbing raw photos on my iPhone and making them look as if they were shot with the larger format gear.
Graphic Design
I love the pushing pixels to create logos, posters, flyers, layouts and everything inbetween. It is especially fun when I get to bring my photography into my graphic design. Below you will find a few examples of my work, including the logos and branding for Clovis South High School and Hirayama Elementary. Both were given the Award of Excellence for Branding by CalSPRA (California Schools Public Relations Association), their highest honor. The Clovis South Longhorns branding also recieved a national award, the Publication and Digital Media Award: Branding Award of Excellence from NSPRA (National School Public Relations Association).
Video Production
I actually got my start in this world of creative content creation and marketing over 20 years ago through the world of video production. I still write, shoot, edit and create motion graphics for coportate clients and for fun. Follow the links to examples of both of those works below.
